Our approach
All of the joy…
none of the guilt.
At Sycorax Cruises, we’re here to celebrate you — a birthday, a bachelor/ette party, an anniversary or engagement, or just a relaxing summer day on the water — while doing no harm to Mother Nature. No polluting gas fumes. No noisy motor. Just you and the majesty of the Great Lakes.
We offer an array of cruise options to suit your needs, 7 days a week, May through October:
Belle Isle Breeze — a 75-minute cruise around Belle Isle, America’s most popular urban park, for up to six guests for $275 during the day ($350 for evenings).
City Sights River Cruise — a two-hour cruise daily for up to six guests for $450. Relax in luxury while we breeze along the number one riverwalk in the U.S., capturing unique vantage points of the mighty cities of Detroit and Windsor, from Belle Isle to the Ambassador Bridge.
Hidden Cove Haven — four-hour cruises for $800 for up to six guests. Includes gourmet charcuterie board or high tea tray. Luxuriate in peace and solitude as we quietly cruise the Detroit River either to the lush and idyllic Ford Cove outside the Michelin-rated Edsel and Eleanor Ford House, or to the industrial yet tranquil McNichols Cove downriver from Detroit.
Concert Cruise on the Detroit River — Catch your favorite act at The Aretha Amphitheatre without all the hassles—parking, paying for tickets, and outrageous lines for concessions and bathrooms—by booking the Sycorax to anchor outside the amphitheatre and accommodate your private party. Cruises are $800 for four or five hours for up to six guests. Includes gourmet charcuterie board or high tea tray.
Curated Events — Not looking to charter the entire boat? We offer holiday & special event bookings so you can purchase individual seats instead. All cruises last two hours and voyage from Stanton Yards Marina near Belle Isle to the Ambassador Bridge and back. Tickets are $125 per person.
Experience the power of silence aboard the X Shore Eelex 8000 cruiser, which melds Swedish maritime craftsmanship with innovative technology solutions that contribute to a future free of fossil fuels.

The Sycorax
Captain Blair and First Mate Allie have picnicked by crystal quiet lakes in the Swiss Alps, spelunked the world’s deepest caves in Vietnam, and lived in Tokyo. They’re passionate about music, especially techno & house. Their best dishes are savory lamb popsicles with duck fat fingerlings (Allie) and lamb bolognese over hand-rolled squid ink pappardelle (Blair). Allie has made seven-minute brownies in six and a half minutes. Occasionally, they’ve been known to break the laws of physics. In their 13 years together, there have been no dull moments.
Captain Blair holds the U.S. Coast Guard OUPV (six-pack) captain’s certification; he’s been sailing since a teenager. First Mate Allie is certified in first aid and adult CPR. Both are avid swimmers, divers, snorkelers, sailors, and all-around water babies.
The Sycorax. What’s a Sycorax, anyway?! The name belongs to a fearsome sea witch from Shakespeare’s play, The Tempest. We could think of no better name for our witchy electric vessel than Sycorax.
Surrender to the lusty, decadent delights of electric cruising
I’m a big fan of local tours, my husband and I love exploring the history, architecture and landscape of Detroit. This is my favorite experience so far. First Mate Allie & Captain Blair were a delight! Seeing Detroit from the water really altered my perspective.
